This site is run by one person. It collects as little as it can get away with, and this page says exactly what that is, who else sees it, and what the content on the site is and is not.
Who runs this site
sheetmechanic.com is operated by Suparerg Suksai. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete what is held about you, write to contact@sheetmechanic.com.
What is collected, and by whom
Nothing on this site asks you to create an account, and there is no advertising and no advertising network. Three third parties are involved, and only one of them runs on every page view.
| Who | What they receive | When | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| MapMyVisitors | Your IP address, and the approximate location and page view derived from it | Every page view | To show a visitor map and a page view count in the footer |
| Kit, formerly ConvertKit | The email address you type into the wishlist form, and which site you submitted it from | Only if you submit the form | To send you one launch notice |
| Cloudflare | Standard web server request data, as the host of this site | Every page view | To serve the site and protect it from abuse |
The wishlist, and what it is limited to
If you give an email address to the wishlist form, it goes to Kit and is used for one email, when that product ships. There is no newsletter and no sequence. Your address is not sold and not shared. You will be asked to confirm by email before you are on the list at all, and every message carries an unsubscribe link. If you would rather not wait, ask at contact@sheetmechanic.com and it will be removed.
The visitor map
The map in the footer is provided by MapMyVisitors. It works from your IP address, which it turns into an approximate location, and it counts page views. It does not receive your name or your email address, and this site does not connect it to anything you submit. If you block third-party scripts, the map simply does not appear and the rest of the site is unaffected.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores nothing in your browser, and there is no advertising pixel and no social tracking script. A check in a fresh private window on 30 August 2026 showed no cookies set by the visitor map either, but that is one observation of a third-party service rather than a guarantee about how it will always behave. If you want certainty, block third-party scripts; the site works without it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to its processing. The whole of it is an email address in Kit, if you gave one, so a request to contact@sheetmechanic.com is enough and no form is needed. Requests are answered within 30 days.
Links to other sites
This site links out to Amazon, Books2Read, Payhip, Blogger and the two product sites. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy, not this one.
Affiliate disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some links to the book are affiliate links, which costs you nothing extra. This never changes what is recommended here or what is written about it.
About the engineering content
The articles, the book and the spreadsheet tools on this site describe approaches that have worked in practice. They are general guidance, not engineering advice for your specific machine, project, contract or jurisdiction.
- Nothing here replaces a qualified engineer's judgement, a design review, or the standards and regulations that apply to your work.
- The spreadsheet tools are provided as they are, with no warranty. Check their output before you rely on it for a decision that costs money or affects safety.
- CycleSim2D and MechanicSim2D are simulation software. A simulation is a model, and a model is not the machine. Validate results against reality before committing hardware.
- Nothing on this site is legal or financial advice.
To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for loss arising from the use of this material. If you spot something that is wrong, please say so at contact@sheetmechanic.com; corrections are welcome and are made.
Changes to this page
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
